RE: Full time with second spouse?

Wife #3 and I (hubby #3 as well) had the idea to FT independently of each other before we met, so when we did and we were easily on the same page, well, the marriage kind of came together. I'm planning on not being one of the 73% of failed third marriages. We've RV'ed for 5 summers and still have the fire for it that we did the day we picked up the Winnie. I think she's a keeper. And, I really admire those of you in long term first marriages. To sucessfully make that kind of choice and decision at a young age speaks well for you and your spouse.

RE: Any problems with leaving windows and vents cracked open?

I'm with so many of you with Maxx Air's. I leave my vents open all the time and don't have any problem with rain. And, the insides always smell nice and fresh.

RE: When did this happen? USPS charge?

I work for a newspaper and we have to prove to the PO that each edition has a certain ratio of news to ads to get charged the correct rate for our customers who get the paper through the mail.

RE: Sacramento River Delta

I camp at Sandy Beach in Rio Vista. Partial hookups and a dump station. $25 a night. Its not a resort but nice enough for me.

RE: Motorcycles and RV;s

I'm towing a Honda 250 Reflex (same running gear as the Big Ruckus) for my wife and a Yamaha 400 Majesty for me. I rode the Reflex for 10000 miles and liked it, though it was a bit small for me at 6'5" and 300 lbs. The Majesty has a bit more umph and I've had it for a year. My wife had been riding for a year on the Reflex and she likes the shiftless aspect of it. I did have a KLR 650 that got stolen out of my garage. Great bike. If I was riding solo and traveling in the rv that would be an excellent choice for a ride. I miss mine to this day and its been 8 years since the theft. And, my dad is 74 and he just bought a new Triumph T100 Bonneville a few months ago. So keep the faith, if you're in good health you can easily ride into your 70's.

RE: newpaper vacation stop order poor service

I had the same problem with mail Then it dawned on me that if I removed the mail box from the curb they couldn't deliver it until I got back. That worked. Nothing, I repeat nothing, even our request would stop my PO from delivering the mail. (Even if I did not want it) Now this is someone on the ball!

RE: newpaper vacation stop order poor service

Racefan has a good idea. And, since more and more papers have contracted out the entire delivery operation, there's not an employee overseeing the carrier force. With less expense comes less control. I still work for a paper that has employee managers overseeing adult contractors, but the writing is on the wall.

RE: Anyone got an adult child living at home?

Currently my 20 year old step daughter, married, mother of two moved home with husband and babies. He's in one of the construction unions doing custom houses and that's not exactly a booming business here in California. He is working side work and testing to be a police officer. So he's not exactly sitting on his butt. She didn't graduate high school but is taking her GED as I type this. The DW and I are not charging them anything. They offered but I told them to save their money. I don't know how long this will last, so far there hasn't been any drama and it is nice to see my grandbabies most every day. Still, 7 of us live in a 1500 sq ft condo, so it is a bit cozy. I work nights which makes it more tolerable for me. There's a fine line between taking the high road and being taken advantage of.

RE: Motorcycles

Count me as one for an enclosed trailer. Make sure its long enough. Ride the bike to the trailer place and make them drag it out so you can ride it in and close the door. I didn't do this on my first trailer and bought it about 6 inches too short. I make do for a while until I sold it to my SIL and bought a 6x10.5 trailer with a ramp door for my scooters. I rode them both in to make sure. There's also a little room for a couple of plastic tubs along with the two scooters. Tracks fine behind my Winnie 29B, can't really tell its there.

RE: CA 89 & 44 to Susanville

We just stayed at Rancheria RV Park in Hat Creek, which is about 12 miles south of the 89/299 stop sign on 89. The cable tv was out but the park was nice enough. Its more camping than rv park anyway. And, its on a small lake/pond and kind of scenic.

He was very proud of the car and loved driving it. Caddy convertables are one of my favorite cars and to see one in such nice shape being driven brought joy to my heart. It took the owner about 15 years to fully restore the car and it was in great shape.

The temp in the cave is quite cool, maybe 60 degrees. Refreshing on a 90 degree day. There's a short walking path that is worth the stop. Its hard to get a big rig turned around in the parking lot, this may be better off in a toad.

There's a 1.2 mile trail that takes you down to the bottom of the falls, then down the creek a bit before heading back up the other side.

RE: So you want good eats in NorCal and Colorado Springs?

I'm a big fan of Black Bear Diner. They do a good breakfast and I like the cobbler. I can't argue with the lack of service, in Walnut Creek and Suisun City I've had indifferent service. But in Willows CA, on I-5 for those of you traveling, I've had good service every time.
